Our firm engages in a variety of fields within civil law, including, among others, local government law, tender law, administrative law, cooperative societies law (kibbutzim and moshavim), local committees in settlements, water and sewage corporations, contract law, commercial engagements, and litigation in commercial and tort matters. We also specialize in banking, receivership, enforcement, including realization of mortgages, and labor law, both in the realm of collective and individual labor relations.
Our clients include institutional, commercial, and private entities. Among them are regional councils, economic companies, kibbutzim, moshavim, cooperative factories, regional factories, purchasing organizations, a commercial bank, a mortgage bank, commercial companies, water and sewage corporations, insurance companies, the Registrar of Associations, as well as private and business clients.
We have handled numerous and diverse cases, some of which have received public attention. For example, we represented a series of local authorities (approximately 10 in number) in their struggle against the government's decision to merge authorities, none of which were ultimately merged. We also represented members of a moshav in objections and appeals before the Income Tax and Real Estate Taxation Commission regarding purchase tax assessments conducted for transactions involving the allocation of member homes in the moshav, appeals that ultimately concluded in a settlement. Additionally, we have been involved in the establishment of poultry and dairy integrations for kibbutzim as an innovative business efficiency project, and in a joint venture between a kibbutz and an international company to establish an innovative waste landfill. We handled the privatization and sale of 49% of the rights in a regional treated wastewater corporation that supplies approximately 15 million cubic meters of treated wastewater for agriculture annually. Recently, we have been noted in connection with the establishment of cooperative societies issuing different shares to their members as a means to preserve the assets of cooperative societies in the hands of their members.
Our firm has a broad professional knowledge base in its various fields of activity and maintains ongoing working relationships with various government entities (Ministry of the Interior, Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Registrar of Associations, National Sewerage Administration, Local Government Treasury, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Environmental Protection), companies, and professional experts in various subjects, including accountants and economic consultants, general appraisers and real estate appraisers, agronomists, medical experts, and others.
We have extensive experience and knowledge in our main areas of practice, and from time to time, we participate as lecturers in seminars and conferences on various topics. Lectures given by us, for example, include the new Companies Law, the new Water Law and its aspects and implications for local authorities, the functioning of local committees in settlements in light of the expansion of kibbutzim and moshavim, and more.
