Enforcement of foreign judgments, lawsuits against foreign states and diplomats, international law.
The lawyers at Carmon – Carmon began their international activities in Israel in 1983 and in New York in 1985. Since its establishment, the firm has been active in civil-commercial law, primarily for international clients and governments.
A significant portion of the firm's activity is in litigation, representing foreign companies in Israel and Israeli companies abroad. Our firm is the only Israeli member of the FraudNet network established by the International Chamber of Commerce, with representatives in 52 countries. We are also the only Israeli members of the INSOL network, an international network of law firms specializing in insolvency and asset recovery.
Over the years, our firm has represented and continues to represent leading commercial and economic entities in the market, including Israeli health funds, daily newspapers, some of the largest industrial plants in Israel, construction companies, software companies, high-tech companies, public bodies, commercial companies, educational institutions, and a wide range of clients.
Since 1985, our firm has represented the United States government in its civil litigations in Israeli courts. Separately, we also serve as the permanent legal advisors to the U.S. Embassy in Israel and the consulates in Jerusalem on ongoing legal matters that do not involve court litigation. Our firm has also successfully represented the European Union in Israeli courts.
Our firm is characterized by innovation, initiative, persistence, attention to detail, and the recognition that the client's interest requires an efficient, fair, and economical resolution of every matter entrusted to us.
Whenever a particular matter requires expertise in an area where other lawyers have an advantage, whether in Israel or abroad, we will locate the appropriate expert and work with them in collaboration for the benefit of the client's matter.
Attorney Hagai Carmon authored the book "Foreign Judgments in Israel - Recognition and Enforcement," published in the fall of 2011 by the Israel Bar Association Publishing House. The book includes a foreword by the Deputy President of the Supreme Court, Justice Eliezer Rivlin. It is the first book in this complex field of international law to be published in Israel since 1996.
In November 2011, Springer Publishing acquired the rights to translate the book into English, and it will be published in hardcover and electronic edition in the winter of 2012.
